“My wife and I first went to Nosara in 2003 and fell in love with the town. We spent years traveling there for vacation and introduced the town to friends and our children. Once we realized our children loved the town as much as we do we decided to start the process of buying a property. When we didn’t find a house that fit our needs we decided to buy a lot and build our dream home. I am a new home builder from outside Philadelphia and I grew up in the construction business but I knew that there was no way for me to run the project from afar. We were introduced to Andrew by our realtor and it was the most important step in our journey. There was an instant comfort level from the first meeting. Andrew walked us through meetings with different architects and helped us review bids and contracts so we could make an educated decision. Once we hired the architect Andrew was integral in working through the design and selection of materials with our architect. His knowledge of the climate in this area helped shaped many decisions on what materials to use for our build.
Once we had our design ready, we leaned on Andrew again to set us up meetings with several of the builders in the area. We reviewed all bids together and were able to make a decision on the builder.
At this point we were thrilled with the decision we made to hire Nosara Design and Build but once construction started we knew we made the right decision. We would received weekly reports along with videos of the progress of the house so we always knew where everything stood. We were not able to be in town for most of the build but having Adrew and his team on site checking for quality control really put our minds at ease. He would pick up items before we even had the chance and was already communicating with the builder on what needed to be done.
When we finally took possession of the house we were overwhelmed of how well everything turned out and that only happens with a great team and Andrew was the one that put the team together and managed everyone the entire time of the project.

“When you are dreaming about having your own home in Costa Rica everything is “Pura Vida.” But trust me, reality exists in this paradise. When we decided to build, we knew we could not be here to monitor the build, and quite frankly we would not know where to begin. We enlisted the help of Andrew Saxton and his team at Nosara Design and Build before we had an architect, builder or even an idea of what we were doing. It was a very good decision.
We built a pretty spectacular house (I am biased because we love it so much) and when I say “we” I am very much including Andrew as he was integral to this process. We managed to do the entire build with 4 visits to Costa Rica. And while we did have some of the surprises that come with building in the jungle the whole thing went very well. Andrew kept the build on track, on budget (except where we blew it), and allowed us to keep our love for Costa Rica alive.
